I’ve used this positioner for over 20 yrs. Most of my work is maybe 1.5ft or smaller and it has been perfect for that. Easy to attach blocks with one or two screws in the bottom. It tilts and rotates without removing the carving. And it is rugged! Don’t have to pamper it . I just clamp it to my bench in the winter (inside) and move it to my shed when it is warm enough to work outside.
Recently did a bigger piece – 2ft or so – in walnut with bigger gouges. Positioner held it stable throughout. Sometimes I put enough torque on it carving the edges to unscrew the mounting plate, but quick and easy to tighten again.
I actually was not looking for a positioner when I bumped into it in a store, but am really, really glad I did.
